The Oregon Incident Management Team #2 assumed command of the Bald Sisters Fire yesterday. Chipping of debris continued along the line yesterday.
Weather and Fire Behavior
Upper level moisture moving in from off the northwest coast will lead to occasional patches of cirrus clouds moving across central Oregon today. Temperatures are expected to be cooler and relative humidity higher. An upper level low will move across the area Friday and Saturday then move east on Sunday. There is a potential for scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms Friday through Sunday.
Fire behavior will be similar to yesterday with isolated surface spread and sustained smoldering.
Today's Operations
Chipping work along the indirect fire line should be completed today. Three chippers, supported by several hand crews, will be working to complete the indirect fireline. Crews and heavy equipment are continuing to repair areas affected by fire suppression activities.
Little fire growth is expected today. Firefighters with aerial support continue to monitor fire behavior and are prepared to respond should fire spread increase.
