Plans to transfer command to a smaller organization are in progress. The transfer of command will occur on Monday morning at 6 am.

Current Situation:
Mop-up standards established by the South Gilliam Rural Fire Department on protected private lands and the Prineville District Bureau of Land Management on federal managed lands is nearly complete. Equipment used in mop-up operations is being pulled from the fire line where the standards have been met. The equipment is being back hauled to camp for clean-up and return to the Fire Cache. Firefighters will continue to patrol and suppress hot spots around the fire perimeter. Rehabilitation of fire line and other effects of fire suppression efforts on BLM managed lands will continue. Firefighters continued to watch for and locate livestock. An initial attack group is prepared to respond to any new fire starts in the immediate vicinity. Demobilization of resources will continue over the next few days as suppression objectives are met.
Weather: Increased temperatures are forecasted for today with max of 97 degrees, NW winds 6-12 mph, and relative humidity 16-21%.
Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFR): A TFR over the fire area will be removed this evening. Please check the NOTAM for current information.
